On a night when the Reeds Spring Softball Program was honored with induction into the Wolves Hall of Fame, the Boys Basketball Wolves tried to cap off the night with a win over visiting Mount Vernon. Despite a strong effort for three quarters, the Wolves eventually fell to the Mountaineers 59-40.
The Game was a series of runs in the first half with Mount Vernon jumping out to an 11-2 lead only to see Reeds Spring finish the first quarter on a 13-0 run to lead by four. The Mountaineers answered back with a 13-2 second quarter and despite hanging in for a while in the third quarter, too many turnovers and fouls stymied the Wolves and allowed Mount Vernon to pull away.
Kyle Bushman led the Mountaineers with 23 points while Lane Carroll paced the Wolves with 19.
The Reed Spring Softball Team highlighted this year’s Hall of Fame inductions as players Mercedes Campbell-Barberina, Marley Harmon and Andrea Studer were inducted as well as the District Championship teams of 2010 and 2011.
