BERRYVILLE, Ark. – The extension for folks in rural Berryville to sign up for water services will end this Friday.
Mayor Tim McKinney says the city will stop taking registration so that way the engineering firm ESI industries, out of Springdale, can finalize its plans for the project.
In May, the Berryville City Council announced plans to expand the city’s water services beyond the city limits, to a tune of 8.8 million dollars.
USDA Rural Development came to that meeting and officials say they plan on providing $1.68 million in loan money to the city and a grant of more than $2.75 million.
McKinney says that he is hoping that crews will be able to get started on the project by this spring.
