BERRYVILLE, Ark. – A head-on collision claims the life of a Berryville teen and injures several others in Carroll County Saturday night.
Troopers say 35-year-old Salvador Ezesarte-Cervantes from Berryville was driving a Dodge van westbound on Highway 62 half a mile outside of his hometown at around 10:35 p.m. He crossed the center lane hitting the car in the eastbound lane head-on.
According to the report, the eastbound vehicle was driven by 18-year-old KC Parker from Alpena. A passenger of Parker’s, a 15-year-old boy from Berryville, was killed in the crash.
Authorities say Parker was hurt in the crash, as well as a 17-year-old boy from Berryville and a 13-year-old girl from Alpena, who were also passengers in Parker’s car.
They were taken to Mercy Hospital in Berryville and to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison. Other passengers in his vehicle include a 17-year-old girl and 19-year-old Hailey Anglin both from Alpena. The Arkansas State Police says they were uninjured.
The driver of the van, Cervantes, was also not hurt in the crash.
The Preliminary Fatal Crash Summary entails that the weather conditions were clear and the road was dry.
