Weekend Sports Recap

A recap of Basketball and Wrestling contests involving area teams over the weekend:

College Basketball
The College of the Ozarks Basketball Teams completed a four game sweep on their games at the Northern New Mexico Classic on Saturday. After both the Lady Bobcats and Bobcats won their contests on Friday over Johnson and Wales, the teams defeated the host team on Saturday. The Women beat the Lady Eagles for the second weekend in a row taking Saturday’s game 78-55. Hannah Wisdom and Shelby Roberts scored 15 and 13 points each to pace the Lady Bobcats while Kelsie Cleeton had her 14th double-double of the season scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Meanwhile, the Bobcats completed a three game season sweep of the Eagles taking a 71-64 behind the 17 points of Cameron Paschke with Heath Carmichael adding 14 points.

The North Arkansas College Men won their home contest over the weekend knocking off Champion Christian 101-45.

High School Basketball
Several tournaments wrapped up over the weekend with third place finishes by the Hollister Boys and Forsyth Girls highlighting the scores with Crane getting edged by Marionville in the finals of their tournament with Branson and Forsyth losing boys tournament consolation games:

High School Wrestling
Neosho takes the team title at the Central Ozark Conference Large School Meet in Sprinfield Saturday. Branson had three second place finishers with Jacob Ulrich (145), Hunter Holyfield (152), and Isaiah Wittmer (160) taking home the runner-up medals. Branson placed a wrestler in all but two of the weight classes in Saturday’s tournament:
