MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. – A sex offender from Mountain Home faces a felony charge after he admits to police he had been living, unregistered, near a public park for more than two months.
The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Robert Gunter was escorted back to the detention center after he came to register himself as a sex offender at a new address.
Through the course of this registration, Sheriff John Montgomery says Gunter informed the registration coordinator he had been living at a home in the 100 block of County Road 677 in Mountain Home instead of where he was previously registered in Flippin for several months.
Coincidentally, the new address he was registering to is less than 2-thousand feet from Keller City Park, according to the report.
Jail logs show Gunter is charged with a felony count of failure to comply. He is being held on a 15-thousand dollar bond and will appear in court on July 21st.
According to authorities, Cruse claimed to be a self-employed Fencing Contractor during his last status-check interview on October 30.
However, Deputies say they got a tip Cruse was currently working for a local property management company. Deputies say they were able to confirm Cruse had been on the management company’s payroll since May.
He is slated to appear in court for the felony on December 10th.
