BRANSON, Mo. – Pokémon Go players are reminded to play it safe when collecting electric type Pokémon near electrical sites.
The White River Valley Electric Cooperative in Branson is actively warning players of the augmented reality game to stay away from powerlines, transformers and substations while playing the game, according to Communications Coordinator Cassie Cunningham:
Cunningham adds it’s also important for players to remember to never jump, sit or stick anything inside of a transformer, climb up power poles or go near fallen power lines.
Cunningham says while the Co-Op has not been made aware of any player incidents in their service area, they felt it important to share a few safety tips with the community.
