HARRISON, Ark. – A public forum is being held tomorrow night over the Boone County Jail Tax.
In a release from the Boone County Government Office, Judge Robert Hathaway says voters are welcome to come to the Boone County Quorum Court Meeting at 7 p.m. He says afterwards, Boone County Sheriff Mike Moore will make a small presentation and will open up to questions from the public.
There will be a special election on August 9th where people will be asked to continuing a quarter-percent sales tax, generating about more than a million dollars of funds for the Boone County Jail. The tax is slated to sunset at the end of this year.
If passed, it would extend the quarter percent sale tax for ten years.
The Boone County Quorum Court will have its monthly meeting this Tuesday. The meeting starts at seven and the discussion will follow.
