HARRISON, Ark. – The Harrison Police Department announces the Downtown Bike Club will start up next Tuesday, July 19th.
The man running the program is Harrison Police Sargent Michael Toland. He says he started a similar project last year inviting people to come and walk his “Beat” of downtown Harrison on Tuesday and Thursday evenings:
Toland says the program had such success last year, the Police department gave him a bike to increase his speed and mobility and now he wants to invite the community to his bike patrols:
He says he hopes this shows the Harrison community the downtown area is a safe place. He would also like to encourage people to come to the event, just to touch base with the local police department.
The Downtown Bike Club will ride every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6 p.m. on the square of Harrison.
