HARRISON, Ark. – A man from Harrison is to serve 180 months in prison after being found guilty of child porn charges.

Kenneth Elser, U-S Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, says 35-year-old Kelvin Pratt was given the sentence for a single charge of advertising visual depictions of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct.

Elser says Pratt sent sexually explicit images and had sexually charged conversations with a minor, using Facebook chat, in order to sway her to send a nude picture of herself. Court records show the two were in contact from February 18th to May 20th of 2015.

Pratt was indicted for the charge in October of last year and plead guilty January 2016, according to the records.

Elser says this case was a part of a national program called Project Safe Childhood and was investigated by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security Investigations. Following his time in a federal prison, Pratt will spend five years on supervised release.
