BRANSON, Mo. – The City of Branson is working out an agreement with the Branson Christian Church for construction of Phase 2 of the Downtown Streetscape Project.
Liberty Plaza is slated to include a new trolley stop, utility lines and a major water fountain feature at the site of an existing city parking lot adjacent to the church.
City Engineer David Miller discussed the project with aldermen during their regular meeting this week…
The board approved first reading of a bill authorizing the agreement for civic improvements. Alderman Patrick Parnell went on the record commending Miller and City Attorney William Dustin for their work with the church to negotiate the agreement:
The agreement stipulates the church will donate any needed easements to the city, while the city agrees to consider compatibility with the church’s normal functions when issuing special use permits for Liberty Plaza. The city also agrees to limit sound levels and use of the space on Sundays.
