BRANSON, Mo. –Branson Fire-Rescue responds to a residential structure fire late Thursday night, in the Pointe Royale Subdivision in Branson.

Fire Chief Ted Martin says around 11 p.m. crews were called to a home in the 300 Block of Sherwood Drive:

Martin says there were no injuries, as the home was vacant at the time of the fire. According to the homeowner, the home was in the process of being remodeled and most of the work had just been completed earlier that day.

Martin adds the cause of the fire is under investigation, but says due to the storms Thursday night, they are looking into the potential that a lighting strike could have started the fire.

Martin says Branson Fire-Rescue responded with two engine and one ladder company, as well as three chief officers. Station 3 of the Western Taney County Fire Protection District also provided mutual aid to the scene.
