Reed Spring Students Win Teen Fishing Tourney

REEDS SPRING, mo. – Sophomores Brittin Dover and Colton Essick of Reeds Spring High School won the Teen Anglers Championship held on June 18-19 at Table Rock Lake.

The fish Dover and Essick caught had a combined weight of 28.44 pounds. The teens earned a $2,500 scholarship ($1,250 for each student), and they qualified to compete in the Anglers in Action Tournament of Champions. That event will take place in November at Grand Lake in Oklahoma.

Approximately 150 teams competed in the Teen Anglers Championship. Another Reeds Spring team, Bowen Gade and Wyatt Akromis, finished fifth. Their fish weighed 23.19 pounds.
