GREEN FOREST, Ark. – Green Forest City Council will be upgrading their school’s surrounding sidewalks.
During the most recent city council meeting, members voted to accept a bid from Kirks Excavation, out of Green Forest, to complete the project for a cost of just over 106-thousand dollars. According to Green Forest Mayor Charles Reece, most of the costs for this sidewalk project are going to be covered by a grant called “Safe routes to School” from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
He says he is happy the grant was finally accepted, as it has been in the making for years.
A timeframe for the project’s completion has not yet been set.
