FORSYTH, Mo. – The Taney County Health Department wishes to make parents aware of revisions to the immunization requirements for students entering into 8th and 12th grades for the 2016-2017 school year.
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services now have new requirements for the Meningococcal vaccine, which prevents meningitis.
Students entering into 8th grade are required to have one dose of the vaccine. Students entering into 12th grade are required to have two doses of the vaccine. If a child has received a dose of Meningococcal vaccine at age 16 or older, only one dose will be required for enrollment.
As previously required, Tdap booster shots are required for all students entering into the 8th grade.
These vaccinations are provided by the Taney County Health Department at both its Branson and Forsyth locations. Additional information on these immunization revisions and appointment information can be found here.
