GREEN FOREST, Ark. – The Former First Lady’s Library Foundation Gives 6-thouand dollar Grant to Green Forest Elementary School.

The Laura Bush Foundation for American Libraries announces 831-thousand dollars would be going ton 30 states in the nation.

The Green Forest School was picked as the only grant winner in Arkansas.

Carrie Reece, the school’s librarian, says this grant money will go toward getting replacing old books that have been worn out over the years. According to Reece, the current books about science, computers, and math are outdated, so those will be the first to be replaced.

She says this is the very first grant she has ever written and she was pleased she received the dollar amount requested.

An announcement about the library upgrades will be made at the first of the school year to the kids.
