HARRISON, Ark. – Methvin Sanitation takes another step toward building a new transfer station in Harrison.

The Ozark Mountain Solid Waste District certified a permit for the trash service on Tuesday, according to Methvin’s Sanitation’s Operations Manager Jay Mathis. He says now the permit application will be sent to the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality for approval.

In December, the company purchased an old factory building off of Industrial Park Road in Harrison for 350-thousand dollars. Methvin official say they would like to expand services for contractors and the public, alike.

The owner of the company Mark Methvin told the local city council at a recent meeting that the new transfer station would be enclosed so people would not need to worry about litter or critters.

Methvin Sanitation currently has transfer stations in Harmon and in Gassville.
