GASSVILLE, Ark. – A Gassville Man faces several charges after police arrest him twice in the last two weeks for selling drugs out of his house.
Sheriff John Montgomery says 58-year-old Rodger Benedict was caught on video by an undercover informant weighing out meth in a close vicinity to guns, so officers promptly initiated a search warrant on May 12th. The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mountain Home Police Department and the State’s Drug Task Force to search the home at 87 Homestead Lane.
Authorities say they found more than nine grams of meth, loaded guns, and several different kinds of prescription pills. Benedict was taken to jail that night, but bonded out with 25-thousand dollars, according to jail logs.
Montgomery says between then and June 1st, a person cooperating with authorities made two additional controlled buys of meth and morphine pills from Benedict at his home. On June 2nd, Benedict turned himself to the Sheriff’s Office for the latest round charges.
He will make his first court appearance on June 23rd.
