FORSYTH, Mo. – Taney County Commissioners approve an emergency funding agreement to complete repairs at the Rockaway Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The project will upgrade the facility’s UV disinfection unit and flow metering system, alleviating an ongoing odor problem.
Environmental Services Project Coordinator John Soutee reports that the UV system is already online, and the new flow meters will be installed this week. He says the City of Rockaway Beach has spent a lot of money removing sludge, cleaning basins and helping cover labor costs…
Commissioners gave unanimous approval to the contract, totaling more than 137-thousand dollars. The board previously authorized an engineering study at the plant.
The project is being paid for with emergency funds associated with the county’s sewer sales tax proceeds, in conjunction with the Taney County Regional Sewer District.
