JASPER, Ark. – Newton County Authorities release information on the arrest of two people from Harrison, last month.
According to the report, deputies were assisting the Arkansas State Police in a compliance checkpoint when deputies observed a noticeably nervous driver, 28-year-old Lorene Phillips, and her passenger, 25-year-old James Phillips, both of Harrison.
Sheriff Keith Slape says upon investigation deputies found digital scales, numerous Xanax and Oxycodone pills, as well as approximately one pound of methamphetamines:
He says the two have been charged with trafficking a controlled substance, possession of schedule one or two with intent to deliver, possession of schedule 4 with the purpose to deliver them, possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of a minor.
The Phillips’ were taken to the Newton County Jail with bond set at $100,000.
