Galena Teen Injured in Motorcycle Crash

GALENA, Mo. – A teenager from Galena suffers serious injuries in a two vehicle crash involving a motorcycle Thursday night, in Stone County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports 15-year-old Paul Lentz was traveling eastbound on Highway 248, when another eastbound vehicle, driven by 70-year-old Leonard Howard of Galena, struck the rear of Lentz’s motorcycle.

Lentz was ejected from his motorcycle and airlifted by helicopter to Cox South Hospital to be treated for his serious injuries. According to the online crash report Howard was not wearing his seatbelt, but didn’t suffer any injuries.

Original report stated: The Missouri Highway Patrol reports 15-year-old Paul Lentz was pulling his motorcycle out from a private drive and onto Missouri 248 in Galena, when he pulled into the path of northbound vehicle, driven by 70-year-old Leonard Howard of Galena.

  2. Report now states that the car struck the rear of the motorcycle and ejected the driver. You really should update a story when corrections or revisions come out to keep the public aware of the change. Thank you.
