HARRISON, Ark. – Harrison residents who live south and east of the Boone County Fairgrounds are under a precautionary boil water notice, due to a water main failure.
The Director of the Harrison Public Works Department, Wade Phillips says people who live in the areas around Northark College, Clarkridge Productions on Highway 65 South, Coy Street, Roberta Drive, and Salmon Lane in Harrison are specifically under the notice.
He says a water main in south-east Harrison failed overnight Saturday causing the 8-inch pipe to loose pressure to those homes.
People are advised to boil water for one minute prior to use. This includes brushing teeth, washing dishes, cooking, making ice cubes, as well as for drinking purposes, according to the Harrison public works department.
Phillips says people, who live south and east of the Boone County Fairgrounds, should continue to boil their water until a bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink, per Arkansas Department of Health Regulations.
