SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A week long episode of on and off again rain showers, has no plans of letting up for the Memorial Day Weekend, according to Meteorologist Roby Frye with the National Weather Service in Springfield:

Frye says for this (Friday) evening and tonight the area may see a thunderstorm or some rainfall, but due to the lack instability in the forecast any thunderstorms will be far and few between.

He adds while they can’t rule out the possibility of a stray severe storm or two, the threat for severe weather is fairly marginal.
