BRANSON, Mo. – A new 1-percent sales tax is approved by 94-percent of stakeholders in the new 76 Entertainment Community Improvement District in Branson.
The retail sales tax is expected to produce 400-thousand dollars annually to fund planned improvements to the 76 corridor.
C-I-D Chairman Larry Schmitt says he is thrilled with the outcome, and is grateful to the property owners for supporting the proposal. He says the sales tax proceeds are necessary to improve the safety, beauty and functionality of Highway 76…
The 76 Complete Streets Plan includes the creation of a multi-modal corridor with wide pedestrian walkways, courtyards and landscaping, along with bicycle accessibility and mass transit options – all supported by underground fiber and utilities.
Schmitt says the next step is to expand the district beyond Phase 1A with the annexation of the remainder of Highway 76.
