HOLLISTER, Mo. – Food trucks will be more present in Hollister as the city amends its code allowing additional locations for mobile food vending.

Aldermen approved first and second reading of two ordinances to that effect. The first permits food trucks to operate in C-2 commercial districts, and the second defines all mobile vendor locations, including C-2, C-3 and C-R commercial-retail districts.

Business owner Peter Berzofsky visited with board members after they approved the changes. He’s operating his Spork Express food truck at the Yacht Club Park on certain days:

Aldermen approved first reading of two other ordinances – one changing some of the wording in the city’s sediment and erosion control plan, and the other amending code pertaining to general regulations.

The board also approved a resolution changing trash collection fees as requested by Allied Waste Services. Customers are being notified of the 24-cent rate increase, which is effective June 15th.
