BRANSON, Mo. – A teenager from Branson receives serious injuries in a single vehicle crash Sunday afternoon, in Taney County.
The Missouri Highway Patrol reports 18-year-old Teresa Nguyen was traveling southbound on Missouri 465, four miles northwest of Branson at 3 p.m., when she fell asleep at the wheel and travelled off of the right side of the roadway.
Nguyen overcorrected and returned the vehicle to the roadway, only to rotate and travel off of the left side of the roadway. She then struck a tree on the passenger side and overturned several times down a 130 foot steep embankment.
Nguyen was airlifted by helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield to be treated for her serious injuries.
