Press Release

BRANSON, Mo. – Falecia Jean Pfister, daughter of Fred and Faye Pfister of Branson, Missouri was honored on May 19 as friends and family gathered at Tantone Industries to dedicate a memorial garden in her honor. Falecia was an employee at Tantone Industries, a sheltered workshop providing employment for adults with developmental disabilities and mental disorders in Taney County. She passed away on January 22, 2013 at the age of 32.

Falecia, born on April 28, 1980, was premature weighing in at a only 1.5 pounds. She spent 4 months in the ICU which prompted her father Fred Pfister and pediatrician, Dr. Bernard Griesemer, to write a handbook for parents of premature babies. Falecia worked for many years at Tantone Industries and developed close friendships during her time there.

Falecia was fondly remembered by the many friends she worked with at Tantone and at Dorgan-Weaver Apartments, one of the supported living apartment complexes operated by Developmental Connections.

“She was a good friend,” said Tim Hreah, who worked with Falecia at Tantone.

“We were pleased today to bring some closure to a project we envisioned shortly after Falecia’s passing,” said Max Lytle, Executive Director, Developmental Connections. “With the help of volunteers from the Branson Tri-Lakes Kiwanis Club who constructed the flower beds, and the maintenance department from Falls Village Resort who planted the flowers, we were finally able to create a fitting memorial to Falecia.  Our employees had some fond memories of their former co-worker and apartment mate.”

A memorial plaque was placed in the ground by Falecia’s mother Faye Pfister, who served on the Developmental Connections (Taney County Board for the Developmentally Disabled) and Tantone boards for many years. The plaque reads: “Planted with love in memory of Falecia J. Pfister, 1980-2013. Wherever a beautiful soul has been there is a trail of beautiful memories.”

Donations that were made in her honor will be used to replenish the flower bed seasonally.
