HOLLISTER, Mo. – A new farmers market for the Hollister community is set to open next month.
Justine Stewart of the Hollister Farm to Table Market appeared before aldermen to request a special event permit to operate the business in the downtown area at 118 Symington Place…
Aldermen approved the application, allowing the farmers market to host multiple food vendors during its initial run.
Stewart and company secured a Rural Development Grant for technical assistance and a farm-to-table feasibility study through a cooperative partnership with the USDA and the Missouri Incutech Foundation.
She says the focus will be on locally-produced meat, fruit and vegetables.
The market is now accepting vendor applications and aims to accommodate vendors of all sizes in a short-notice market season for a one-time membership fee of $5 plus five-percent of daily sales.
Prospective vendors can call 417-527-5958 or send an email send an email (transparent link) to apply.
