HARRISON, Ark. – The Stuff the Truck event in Harrison loads up 1,332 items for two local food pantries, on top of a thousand dollar donation.
Clay Maxey Ford and Arvest Bank teamed up this year for the event, raising cash and cans in conjunction with the Million Meals program, host annually by the bank.
Joy Prater, the Director of Ozark Share and Care explains how this donation will help feed local families.
The proceeds from the event will go directly to Ozark Share and Care in Harrison. Clay Maxey made the thousand dollar and Prater says that is equivalent to 5-thousand meals.
According to the Arkansas Hunger Alliance, almost 90-thousand kids, state-wide, are at a higher risk of going hungry during the summer months. Maxey says he hopes this will make a small dent in helping keep the food banks full.
