BRANSON, Mo. – Cahill Road in Branson reopens to traffic after crews finish cleaning up a diesel fuel spill this (Tuesday) afternoon.
Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin says a commercial dump truck lost a fuel cap to one of its saddle tanks, spilling about 50 gallons of diesel onto mainly the eastbound lane of Cahill Road.
Crews laid down a large quantity of absorbent material, and later a truckload of limestone shavings provided by MoDOT:
Martin says the spill made Cahill Road extremely slick, causing traffic congestion but no accidents in the area near Cox Medical Center Branson.
Crews were on scene for nearly three hours.
