Man Bound Over in Shooting Incident

FORSYTH, Mo. – A man from Rockaway Beach charged with shooting his father during an altercation in March waives his preliminary hearing and is bound over to Taney County Circuit Court for arraignment next week.

Twenty-eight-year-old Mark Schwartz is charged with three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of armed criminal action and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.

He allegedly shot his father with a 22-caliber pistol on two occasions over one weekend, after his father mistakenly pointed a shotgun at his girlfriend, thinking she was an intruder, according to a probable cause statement.

The father was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Schwartz is scheduled for arraignment next Thursday, May 19th.
