BRANSON, Mo. – A home in Branson’s Pointe Royale subdivision is destroyed by fire this afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Devonshire Drive just before 1 p.m. on a report of a residential structure fire in progress.

Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin says crews arrived to find the home about 75-percent involved, with flames extending to the siding of an adjacent residence. An aggressive exterior attack ensued, with firefighters utilizing large-diameter water hoses, and the master stream from one of the fire trucks on scene.

Martin says a large amount of ammunition was stored inside the home, making the initial attack more difficult and dangerous…

Martin says the residents first saw smoke and flames coming from a stairwell in the center of the home. The occupants were able to exit the structure without injury.

The size of the blaze prompted a second alarm, with crews from Western Taney County and Southern Stone County responding in mutual aid.

Local and state fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.
