Update: Rescue Crews Searching for Missing Swimmers

BLUE EYE, Mo. – Dive teams with the Southern Stone County and Western Taney County fire protection districts spent most of this (Tuesday) afternoon searching for two people reported missing in Table Rock Lake.

According to witnesses, two swimmers went under water and did not resurface, around 1 p.m.

Rescue teams were focusing on the area between Emerald Pointe and Old 86 Campground, according to Southern Stone Public Information Officer Eric Nielsen.

Two hours after the report was filed, crews were using sonar to try to locate the swimmers, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol – Water Division was assisting with the search.

As of 4 p.m., no one has been located.

Nielsen says there is no confirmation that anyone is actually missing. The incident was reported by a third party, and there were several people and boats in the area at that time.
