BRANSON, Mo. – The Taney County Ambulance District Paramedics are awarded accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services for meeting the standards of EMS excellence.
Chief Darryl Coontz says this accreditation is something the TCAD has been working towards since 2010. He adds in order to receive accreditation, TCAD Paramedics had to meet over 100 standards set by CAAS and allow CAAS inspectors to conduct a deep and detailed two day inspection:
CAAS standards are designed to help increase operational efficiency and decrease risk and liability.
According to a news release, In the U-S there are over 15-thousand ambulance services and of those, less than 200 are CAAS Accredited. TCAD Paramedics are the first ambulance district, and only the second ambulance service in Missouri to be awarded with this accreditation.
