REEDS SPRING, Mo. – A family of four is displaced by a structure fire east of Reeds Spring Monday afternoon.

Southern Stone County firefighters arrived at the residence on Hub Cap Lane just after 3 p.m. to find the single-wide mobile home fully engulfed in flames.

Public Information Officer Eric Nielsen says the Highlandville Fire Department provided mutual aid as crews shuttled water from a supply nearly 8 miles away…

About a dozen firefighters remained on scene for nearly two hours. The home is a total loss. The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

Nielsen says the district fire marshal believes an electrical issue with a refrigerator caused the blaze. No one was home when the fire started, and no one was injured.
