Clarkridge Man Faces a Felony After Sunday Shooting

CLARKRIDGE, Ark. – A man from Clarkridge is facing a felony charge for first degree battery, after allegedly shooting another man and then holding him at gunpoint.

Deputies with the Baxter County Sherriff’s Office say they were responding to a domestic disturbance in Clarkridge at 5-32 Somer View Drive at approximately 9:00 p.m. Sheriff John Montgomery says authorities arrived to find 49-year-old Kenneth Jackson with a black, 9 mm Glock pointed at another man, lying on the ground.

Deputies say that’s when they secured the handgun from Jackson and discovered the man on the ground had been shot in the left shoulder. The victim was found to be unarmed and claimed he had been shot at several times.

Jackson was arrested and is currently behind bars in lieu of a 50-thousand dollar bond, according to jail logs. He is expected in court on May 12th.
