YELLVILLE, Ark. – People are invited to celebrate the history of the Buffalo Point on C-C-C Heritage Day this Saturday.
Casey Johannsen Centennial Coordinator for the Buffalo National River, says the park service has teamed up with the Harrison welcome center to take a look back on the importance of the Civilian Conservation Corps, or CCC, at Buffalo Point.
The event will kick off with a round table discussion called “Memories from the Past”, where Representative Kelley Linck and former Director of Arkansas Park and tourism, Richard Davis will speak, followed by a guided hike on the overlook trail:
“CCC Heritage Day Buffalo Point” is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Historic District of Yellville. This event is free and open to the public.
