BRANSON, Mo. – The City of Branson is executing a memorandum of understanding with the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission pertaining to planned improvements associated with the Spirit of 76 Project.
Assistant Public Works Director Keith Francis says normally, MoDOT would require an agreement specifying the nature of the Highway 76 improvements, and the responsibility for costs and long-term maintenance. However, he says this project is unique and complicated, with construction spanning several years:
The memorandum states the Highway Commission will work with the city on a case-by-case basis, with terms agreed upon as the city submits permit applications.
The city is currently in the process of relocating about 14 signs in order to install buried utilities along the entertainment promenade.
