BRANSON, Mo. – The City of Branson is teaming up with the Empire District Electric Company this (Friday) morning, to host an Arbor Day Celebration and tree giveaway at Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area in Branson.
Recognized for twenty years by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA, the Missouri Department of Conservation will once again plant a tree to honor the City of Branson, with Mayor Karen Best accepting the award at 11 a.m.
Empire District Electric Company is also accepting an Arbor Day Foundation recognition for its demonstration of best practices in utility arboriculture, earning the utility its seventh consecutive year designation as a Tree Line USA Utility.
Area residents and businesses are invited to participate in the dedication ceremonies and Arbor Day Foundation celebration. Present registered Empire Electric customers are also being given a free tree seedling, specifically selected to thrive in the Ozarks region.
Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area is located at 1550 Fall Creek Road in Branson.
