ARKANSAS – The Arkansas Supreme Court rules the state Police do have to make accident reports open to the public.

The court issued its decision Thursday ruling the information of both drivers and passengers in non-fatal auto accidents should be released. The state police in Arkansas began redacting information from accident reports last year, citing the federal Driver Protection Act.

The judges ruled that law does not pertain to accident reports in a five to two vote.
