POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – A command performance of the concert reading of Shepherd the Musical is being presented at the Nixa First Assembly on Saturday, May 7th.

This new musical adaptation of Harold Bell Wright’s classic novel re-presents the characters and the story that made the Ozarks famous in the early 1900s. Dr. Hayden Head, professor of English at College of the Ozarks, wrote the script and lyrics and was joined by long time music director Stan Beard, who composed the music.

The cast performed for over 350 people who attended the musicals first two concert reading performances on March 11th and 12th. The cast has also performed at Silver Dollar City, the current production of Shepherd of the Hills and other venues in Branson.

This performance is free and open to the public, but seating is extremely limited so reservations are needed. Reservation information and more can be found here.
