Reading Marathon Kicks Off in Eureka Thursday

by Shannon Cay

EUREKA SPRINGS, Ark. – The 7th annual Carroll County Bible Reading Marathon kicks off in Eureka Springs tomorrow (today).

People from local churches around the area will be reading the bible non-stop between the hours of 8 in the morning to ten at night from April 28th to May 5th. For the first time this year, the event will be held at the Passion Play Theater in Eureka Springs.

The Co-founder of the event, Jess Roediger says this is a great way to get several generations of family members together. He adds this year’s speaker, Rhonda Holmes is the author of “The Word Diet”, winner of a Christian book award. The speech will be Thursday, starting at six, however is sold out.

However, he says on Friday at 7:00 p.m., the churches will be hosting a word rally at the passion play Theater. That event is free and open to the public.

  1. ohhhh-boy, that sounds like something I could spend all day watching and listening to!

  2. There will be a lot of “begittin and beeseechin” going on. This will no doubt make a big difference in the lives of the homeless and the hungry. Yeah…right.
