FORSYTH, Mo. – Taney County is working with the Southwest Missouri Council of Governments to update its current natural hazard mitigation plan, which expires at the end of next year.
Melissa Duckworth with the Taney County Emergency Management Office says a new five-year plan is needed to ensure all of the various jurisdictions in the county continue to qualify for state and federal funding…
The update requires a 25-percent match from the county, and this year the Council of Governments is requesting a portion of the match be made as a cash payment.
Taney County Commissioners approved the expenditure of 35-hundred dollars, and plans to share this cost with the 20 or more political subdivisions in the county.
