HARRISON, Ark. – The Harrison School Board votes in favor of raising both the breakfast and lunch prices in schools.
Kids in Kindergarten to twelfth grade will have breakfast raised by ten cents, so prices will go from a dollar fourth to a dollar fifty.
Lunch for kids grades k to six will go from a dollar and ninety cents to two dollars and ten cents.
Older kids, grades six to twelve will have lunch prices also raised by ten cents, so from two dollars and fifteen cents to two dollars and twenty five cents.
According to a release from the school, this is to ensure that kids on free or reduced lunch don’t go hungry. Superintendent Mindy Moss says the rising prices are necessary to comply with federally mandated funding.
