REPUBLIC, Mo. – A man from Republic is sentenced to 15 years and eight months in federal prison for possession of methamphetamine, with the intent to distribute.
The United State Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Missouri says 40-year-old William Martinez pleaded guilty on September 28th, 2015 to possessing 148.05 grams of methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Springfield Police Officers discovered a clear plastic bag of meth in the back seat on the passenger’s side of Martinez’s vehicle, which had stalled in the roadway on October 1st, 2013.
Upon further investigation, officers discovered a lunchbox containing clear plastic baggies of meth, individually packaged for distribution, which were hidden under the hood of the vehicle inside the air filter box.
