GREEN FOREST, Ark. – Tyson Foods announces a 136 million dollar processing plant may be in the works for Green Forest.
According to a release from the corporation, Tyson officials say they would like to add the processing plant across the street from the already existing chicken plant there. Tyson Project Directors say the new processing plant could create about 85 jobs.
The current Green Forest facility employs over 12-hundred people, according to its website.
The release reads Tyson officials are still waiting to hear back on some incentives they applied for with Carroll County and the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, before committing to another plant.
Officials say if the incentives are approved, construction could start up as early as this summer.
