REPUBLIC, Mo. – The Republic Police Department is hosting a prescription drug take back event on Saturday, April 30th.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the department, along with the DEA, will present the public an opportunity to drop off their expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs at the Walgreens location at 11-40 East Highway 60.
Earlier this year hazardous materials were left at the drug drop off location in the lobby of the Republic Police Department. Due to safety concerns the department chose to have the drop box removed and to only host take back events between the DEA sponsored events.
This service is free and anonymous. No questions will be asked and labels do not have to be removed prior to disposal. All Americans are reminded that flushing unused medicines or discarding them in the trash pose potential safety and health hazards.
