Flippin Man Pleads Guilty to Rape, Battery, Kidnapping

FLIPPIN, Ark. – A man from Flippin pleads guilty on Tuesday to charges connected to the kidnapping, beating, and rape of a mentally handicapped woman, last year.

According to the police report from July 31st of 2015, a reportedly mentally handicapped couple were walking on Highway 62, when they were offered a ride by, a now, 62-year-old Ronald Watson. Authorities say Watson took the couple to Harp’s, per their request, but when the husband got out of the car, Watson sped away with the wife.

When authorities were on scene with the husband, the report says the wife returned on foot with bruising to her face.

The Arkansas state police say they later found Watson intoxicated and passed out in his vehicle, at a Walmart Parking lot, where he was arrested. He has been in the Baxter County Jail since August 1st with a 200-thousand dollar bond.
