McCORD BEND, Mo. – The Missouri State Auditor’s Office is beginning a citizen-requested audit of the Village of McCord Bend in Stone County.

According to Auditor Nicole Galloway, her office received a petition containing the required number of signatures, which have been certified by the Stone County Clerk’s Office.

McCord Bend has a population of about 300 residents; 47 valid signatures were needed for the audit.

The village was established in 1992 and was last audited in 1998.

Galloway says her office welcomes input and information from citizens, and she looks forward to providing results and recommendations for the benefit of the village and its residents.

Those who would like to provide information for consideration during the audit may contact the State Auditor’s Office through the Auditor’s Fraud Hotline at 1-800-347-8597 or by emailing: moaudit@auditor.mo.gov (transparent link).
