REEDS SPRING, Mo. – A man from Reeds Spring faces several felony charges following a hostage situation involving a woman and two children.
Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader reports a Reeds Spring Police Officer responded to a domestic disturbance call at a Reeds Spring residence on Wednesday, April 6th, involving 46-year-old Danny Evans:
Rader says the call quickly escalated into a hostage situation and Stone County Deputies were brought into to assist. After approximately an hour of negotiations, the victims, identified as Evans estranged wife and two children, were released and Evans exited the home with no problems.
Evans was arrested at the scene. The Stone County Prosecutor has charged Evans with sexual assault and displaying a deadly weapon, first degree burglary, armed criminal action, felonious restraint, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of a weapon.
As of report time Evans was incarcerated at the Stone County Jail on a cash only bond of 100-thousand-dollars.
