HARRISON, Ark. – A local not for profit group, working to find every child in Arkansas a safe home, is asking you to participate in ArkansasGives.
Officials with the Call of Boone County say today about 45-hundred kids in Arkansas, alone, are in foster care. ArkansasGives is a 12 hour online donation event that takes place this Thursday and Lora Stephens, the Boone county CALL coordinator says local families are in a lot of need.
The Call of Boone County works with the Department of Human Services to place kids for temporary or long term foster care. Stephens says they are also a pivotal player in recruiting new foster parents.
Stephens says an online donation during the ArkansasGives event will help them to change the lives of kids in foster care.
ArkansasGives is an annual event put on by the Arkansas Community Foundation.
